ABOUT

I have been working as a professional photographer since I graduated from college in the late 80’s. Originally specialised in studio and commercial photography and I now specialise in trail, ultra, mountain and Skyrunning photography.

In my 20’s I started cycling and improved step-by-step… nowhere near professional level but I was a decent domestic rider working up to 1st Cat and I tested myself at many elite races.

In 2002 I retired from full time cycling and eventually drifted into Triathlon and Duathlon. I have done multiple 70.3 races and Ironman events for fun. In 2005 I represented GB at the Duathlon Worlds in Australia. I have a marathon PB of 2:53.

I’m average at sport but love it!

Wanting a new challenge I took up ultra running and I have never looked back. I now combine all my experience from my multiple disciplines and bring them together. I write, blog, photograph, provide race reports, travel and in 2012 I set up Talk Ultra as a primary vehicle for all that I do.

Talk Ultra is an ultra running podcast for runners and enthusiasts.

It is released every two weeks on a Friday and it covers the world of ultra running. Unlike other podcasts, this show has a magazine feel allowing the listener to dip in and dip out as and when required.

It’s typically a long show… we are ultra runners after all!
